Gift wrapping supplies for candles and jars

A handmade gift looks even better when it is wrapped with care, and a jar travels better when it cannot move inside the box.

Choose the box first

Measure the height and widest point of the jar and add about 1 cm on each side for filler. A box with a lid, or a gift bag with a flat stiff base, keeps the jar upright.

Cushion and wrap

Wrap the jar in tissue, then fill the gaps with crinkle or shredded paper so it does not slide. Flower candles have delicate petals: put filler around the jar, never pressed on top of the flower.

Finish

A ribbon and a handwritten tag are enough. Tuck in a small care note: trim the wick to about 5 mm, let the first burn reach the edges, never leave it unattended.

Heat and shipping

Wax softens in heat. Do not leave a wrapped candle in a parked car or in direct sun. Concrete is heavy, so if you send a gift by courier use a strong outer box and firm filler so the jar does not touch the box walls.
